Trenchless sewer repair has changed the way sewer pipe problems are addressed, offering a cleaner and less disruptive alternative to traditional dig and replace methods. At Gene’s Water & Sewer, we have consistently adopted new technology as it becomes available, ensuring our customers receive faster repairs and dependable results. One of the most important advancements in recent years has been the evolution of CIPP lining methods and our transition toward faster, more efficient curing systems.

CIPP lining, which stands for Cured In Place Pipe lining, is a broad category of trenchless sewer repair techniques used specifically for sewer pipes. This method involves inserting a flexible, resin saturated liner into an existing sewer line and curing it in place to form a seamless new pipe inside the old one. Once cured, the liner restores structural integrity, seals cracks and joints, and improves overall flow without the need for excavation.
In the past, Gene’s Water & Sewer commonly used Nu Flow as part of our CIPP lining services. Nu Flow is considered an ambient cure product, meaning the liner cures naturally over time. While this approach is effective, it requires the liner to sit overnight to fully harden. As a result, many trenchless sewer repair projects using ambient cure methods can take one and a half to two days to complete, depending on pipe length and conditions.
Advancements in trenchless sewer repair technology have allowed us to improve both efficiency and turnaround time. Today, Gene’s Water & Sewer primarily uses advanced UV cure CIPP lining systems. These systems utilize ultraviolet light to cure the liner from the inside, creating a strong, uniform pipe in a fraction of the time required by ambient cure methods.
With UV cured CIPP lining, an entire sewer pipe can often be cured in about an hour on average. This allows many repairs to be completed in a single day rather than extending into multiple days. Faster curing means less downtime, reduced disruption to daily routines and quicker restoration of normal sewer use. The controlled curing process also provides consistent results throughout the length of the pipe.
Although we still maintain the option to use Nu Flow when specific situations call for it, we rarely rely on ambient cure products today. Our focus is on using the most effective trenchless sewer repair solutions available, and modern CIPP lining methods allow us to deliver stronger results more efficiently.
At Gene’s Water & Sewer, investing in improved CIPP lining technology reflects our commitment to providing reliable sewer pipe repairs using methods that are faster, cleaner and built to last. Call us at 612-781-3737 or request a free estimate!
